Participation in the IT Spot 2026 Conference

Danilo Potpara, the manager coordinating the work of the Sector for Professional Oversight of the Implementation of Information Security Measures, participated as a panelist at the IT Spot 2026 conference. During the panel “From Regulation to Business: Cybersecurity as a Business Obligation,” he stated that the Cybersecurity Agency conducts professional oversight to verify whether essential and important entities implement information security measures and how effective they are in practice. The purpose of professional oversight is to determine whether an entity actually applies information security measures, manages risks, and protects data, systems, and essential services. “Our goal is not only to verify compliance with obligations, but also, through professional oversight, recommendations, the exchange of experience, and operational cooperation, to help entities build genuine capacities to protect their services,” Potpara emphasized. He recalled that previous professional oversight activities indicate that the implementation of information security measures is often viewed solely as the responsibility of individual sectors, rather than as an issue of organization-wide management. He also noted the need for more active involvement by management in implementing information security measures within the entities they lead. The IT SPOT 2026 conference was held in Podgorica and organized by the non-governmental organization ICT Cortex under the slogan “Shaping Digital Montenegro.”
