Kordić Meets Porto Montenegro CEO: New Investments an Important Boost for the Further Development of Montenegrin Tourism
Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić met with Andrea Eggers, the newly appointed CEO of Porto Montenegro, to discuss the further development of Montenegro’s tourism offering, investment potential, and opportunities for implementing new projects in the tourism sector. During the meeting, Eggers highlighted that the Interregional Europe-Asia Forum and the investment conference organized by the Ministry of Tourism in cooperation with the United Nations had been exceptionally productive, and congratulated Kordić on the successful organization of events of great importance for Montenegro’s international positioning and the presentation of its investment potential. The meeting also addressed Porto Montenegro’s future investment plans, with Kordić expressing satisfaction with the announcements of new projects and emphasizing that they represent an important signal to other renowned international investors. Kordić particularly pointed to the significant yet still underutilized investment potential of Montenegro’s northern region, which offers numerous opportunities for developing new tourism facilities and sustainably leveraging natural resources. She also stressed that MICE tourism—namely, conference and business tourism—as well as health tourism, are areas with considerable room for new investment, especially given Montenegro’s strategic commitment to developing a diverse tourism offering and positioning itself as a year-round destination. The interlocutors concluded that continuous dialogue between the public and private sectors, attracting high-quality investment, and developing new tourism products are important prerequisites for further strengthening the competitiveness and sustainable development of Montenegrin tourism.
