Customs Administration in the First Half of 2026 Achieved Revenue Collection Growth of 25 Million Euros

In the reported period, the gross collection of customs revenues amounted to approximately 675.90 million euros, representing an increase of 25.7 million euros, or 4% more compared to the same period last year. The most significant revenue growth was achieved through import VAT, which was collected in the amount of 455.34 million euros, an increase of 19.2 million euros, or 4% compared to the previous year. Revenue from customs duties amounted to 34.05 million euros, an increase of 1.35 million euros, or 4%, while coffee tax revenue was 1.32 million euros. Other revenues totaled 96,940 euros. During the reporting period, there were seven cases of temporarily seized money totaling 372,455 euros and 12,850 US dollars, along with significant quantities of excise goods including cigarettes, cigarillos, cigars, shredded tobacco, hookah tobacco, and alcoholic beverages. Additionally, two separate seizures involved hashish and marijuana. The Customs Administration independently and in cooperation with other government bodies filed nine criminal charges with the competent prosecutor and submitted 38 notifications to the prosecutor's office regarding grounds for suspicion of committing criminal offenses. In the same period last year, a total of 137.57 million euros was collected, representing an increase of 8.03 million euros, or 6.20%, compared to the previous year. The revenue plan for June was exceeded by 2.7 million euros, or 2% more than June 2025.
