Nikšić: Two retail stores found with cigarettes worth around 1,840 euros intended for illegal trade; criminal charges filed against two shop owners

Police officers from the Nikšić Security Department, together with customs officials, conducted an inspection of retail stores, discovering in two locations a total of 636 packs of cigarettes valued at approximately 1,840 euros, intended for illegal trade. In one store owned by R.B., located in a neighborhood near Nikšić, they found and confiscated 421 packs of cigarettes and 67 packs of hand-rolled cigarettes, of which 316 packs had a tax stamp from another country and 105 packs lacked a tax stamp. In Nikšić, an additional 148 packs of cigarettes were seized, valued at about 440 euros, with 115 packs bearing a foreign tax stamp and 33 without a stamp. The relevant public prosecutor in the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić was notified, and he indicated that criminal charges would be filed against R.B. The police and customs officers will continue targeted activities to combat the gray economy, illegal trade, and other forms of crime to protect lawful business operations and create a more favorable environment for citizens.
