Kordić: Tourist season shows good results, coordination of all institutions remains key
Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordić held a meeting of the Coordination Body for the preparation and monitoring of the tourist season, with the aim of continuously tracking the flow of the season, challenges on the ground, and coordination of activities of all relevant institutions. The meeting, attended by representatives of the National Tourism Organization of Montenegro, local tourism organizations, the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, the Police Directorate, and other competent sectors, presented the latest data confirming a positive trend in tourism. Positive results were also achieved in May, when the number of foreign tourists was about seven percent higher compared to the same month last year, and the number of overnight stays also increased by about seven percent. Participants agreed that this year's results are very good, especially considering the challenges posed by the war events in the Middle East and their impact on certain emitting markets. Police representatives informed the members of the Coordination Body that around 120 Montenegrin police officers, along with 25 officers from regional countries, will be responsible for the safety of tourists and citizens during the coastal tourist season. Kordić emphasized that these good indicators impose an additional obligation on all institutions and tourism entities to continue responsible and coordinated work.
