Podgorica: Police identified and detained two persons suspected of committing serious thefts

Officers of the Podgorica Department of Security, taking measures within their jurisdiction to combat property crime, and acting on orders from the state prosecutors at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, detained two persons suspected of committing criminal acts of serious theft. On July of this year, in the same neighborhood, using a suitable tool, they broke into a residential building, cut a security cable securing a bicycle in the common area, then stole it and fled the scene. One of them was brought before a competent state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, with a criminal report, on suspicion of committing the aforementioned criminal act. In August of this year, taking advantage of the victim's negligence, he snatched 1,100 euros from his hands and fled the scene. Through intensive operational measures and actions, police officers quickly identified and located the suspect, who was detained by order of the prosecuting state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica on suspicion of committing the said criminal act. The police continue to undertake intensive activities to clarify property crimes and prosecute persons suspected of these crimes, aiming to protect citizens' property and maintain security.
