Prime Minister congratulates Gusinje Municipality Day

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Mr. Milojko Spajić, congratulated the citizens and leadership of Gusinje on August 5th — Municipality Day, which, as he noted, permanently preserves the memory of all those who, guided by ideals of freedom, anti-fascism, universal values, and human dignity, laid the solid foundations for the development of Gusinje and made an immeasurable contribution to building a modern and democratic Montenegro. "By jointly caring for the protection of nature and development, improving communal, road, and overall social infrastructure, as well as nurturing strong ties with our diaspora, whose attachment to their homeland obliges and encourages development, we create preconditions for achieving strategic development goals and building a prosperous future for all citizens," the Prime Minister stated. Reminding that Gusinje, with its exceptional natural resources, cultural-historical heritage, and harmony of differences, is an example of an environment where different identities mutually respect and complement each other, he emphasized: "That harmony of differences is one of Gusinje's greatest values, but also Montenegro's, as a civic, multi-ethnic, and European state — values recognized through our country's European integration process." He also assessed that the results showing that the northern region of Montenegro continues to record growth in the number of guests and increasingly participates in the overall tourist offer of our country are particularly encouraging. In this context, we must always keep in mind that our characteristic development advantages deserve strong care and protection. "It is precisely the more demanding reform laws, which we adopt in accordance with the legal heritage of the European Union, that will help us preserve the natural wealth of Gusinje and the entire ecological state," concluded the Prime Minister, expressing confidence that despite all ongoing regional and global challenges, a prosperous and productive European future of peace and prosperity awaits us.
