A Laboratory for the Western Balkans: AKSK and GIZ Expand Cooperation in Cybersecurity
Devices were delivered as part of the Memorandum of Understanding for the "Western Balkans Cybersecurity Laboratory: Training, Innovation, and Knowledge Exchange" (Western Balkans Cybersecurity Laboratory), which aims to develop the laboratory near AKSK into a regional center for advanced training, simulations, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among experts from the Western Balkans. The new infrastructure will create opportunities to develop practical skills for professionals and students in the region, especially in incident response, digital forensics, penetration testing, and cybersecurity resilience. AKSK Director General Bledar Kazia appreciated the support from GIZ and the German Federal Government, emphasizing that expanding this cooperation creates new opportunities to share expertise and build joint capacities with Western Balkans partners. The support is provided through the "Partnership for Strengthening Cybersecurity" project, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by GIZ.
