Krapović and Jones on Strengthening Defense and Security Cooperation

The minister assessed that the close relations between Montenegro and the United Kingdom represent a solid foundation for further improvement of cooperation in the field of defense and security, as well as for a joint contribution to regional stability and the broader European space. He emphasized that Montenegro, as a responsible NATO member, continues to invest in developing national defense capabilities and actively contributes to collective security. Particular mention was made of Montenegro's contribution to allied efforts through the engagement of Montenegrin Army personnel in NATO activities in Latvia and Bulgaria, as well as participation in international missions and operations. Ambassador Jones highlighted the strong support of the United Kingdom for Montenegro as a reliable NATO ally, especially in the process of further developing its defense capacities through specific projects in priority areas. She assessed that the quality cooperation between Montenegro and the United Kingdom will continue to be an important contribution to strengthening NATO, the stability of the Western Balkans, and European security. In this context, the importance of a strong NATO, transatlantic partnership, and active diplomatic cooperation aimed at maintaining peace and security was emphasized.
