European Cybersecurity Experts in Riga Analyze the Latest Cyber Threats and Share Experiences

In May, a meeting of the European Cybersecurity Incident Response Teams (TF-CSIRT) community took place in Riga to analyze recent cyber incidents, discoveries, and attacker tactics through closed discussions, as well as to address challenges for more effective cybersecurity incident prevention and response in Latvia and Europe. Such meetings are especially important as cyber incidents become increasingly complex, and closer cooperation between organizations and countries is critically needed," said CERT.LV director Baiba Kaškina. During the meeting, over 150 trusted cybersecurity experts analyzed real cyberattacks and crises in European countries, sharing experiences on current threats, incident management, and effective response approaches. CERT.LV demonstrated its expertise and Latvia's experience in strengthening industrial technology security, methods of commercial attacks observed in Latvia, and practices for their prevention. The event also included an international SOC experts' knowledge exchange session and workshops on operational security (OPSEC) and cyber crisis communication. This helps draw European experts' attention to current threats in Latvia and, through international cooperation, enhances the security of Latvia's cyber space," said CERT.LV representative and TF-CSIRT management committee member Dana Ludviga. The meeting was organized by TF-CSIRT in collaboration with CERT.LV, the Latvian Ministry of Defense, the National Cybersecurity Centre, ISACA Latvia Chapter, the University of Latvia's Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science, and Censys.
