Gorčević in Tallinn: Estonia with Montenegro towards full EU membership

The talks focused particularly on the final phase of Montenegro's European path, work on the Accession Treaty, and the process of its future ratification in member states. They agreed that work on the Accession Treaty is an important political signal that Montenegro's European journey is becoming more concrete and that the process is gradually moving from negotiations to preparing for membership itself. Foreign Minister Magnus Cahn confirmed strong support for Montenegro's EU membership, emphasizing that the focus now should be on how to help Montenegro successfully complete the process and become an EU member. Chairman of the European Union Affairs Committee, Peter Tali, expressed full support for Montenegro's membership and showed particular interest in how Estonia and its parliament can concretely assist in the next steps.
