Students at Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Library trained in personal data protection

On July 8, 2026, the National Center for Personal Data Protection (CNPDCP) continued its awareness campaign for the school community by organizing a training course titled "Protection of personal data and children's safety online," aimed at students from the Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Library in Chișinău. The activity was organized to mark CNPDCP's 18 years of activity, reaffirming the institution's commitment to promoting a culture of personal data protection and contributing to the development of digital skills among children and youth. During the session, participants learned what constitutes personal data and why it must be protected, with practical examples of information that can identify a person, such as name, surname, photograph, home address, phone number, email address, location, biometric data, or other information that allows direct or indirect identification. In this context, CNPDCP representatives emphasized the importance of following basic digital security rules, including using complex and unique passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, checking privacy settings on accounts, and avoiding access to links or files from unknown sources. Participants were also informed about ways to recognize fraud, manipulation, and phishing attempts, the dangers posed by fake profiles and suspicious messages, and the importance of seeking help from parents, teachers, or trusted adults when encountering inappropriate content or being contacted by strangers. The National Center for Personal Data Protection will continue organizing informational and educational activities dedicated to children, youth, teachers, and parents to promote a safe, responsible digital environment based on respecting fundamental rights.
