Montenegro hosts one of the most significant international aviation symposia
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense Sandra Radević met today with Nikola Cojić, a member of the Executive Board of IFATSEA (International Federation of Air Traffic Safety Electronics Associations) and coordinator of the international symposium "ICAO Air Navigation World 2026." During the meeting, Cojić extended an official invitation to representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Army of Montenegro to participate in the upcoming gathering, which the State Secretary accepted, emphasizing the Ministry of Defense's readiness to support the organization and realization of this important international event. In Bečići, Montenegro, in 2023, it was the first NATO nation to present the Draft National Development and Implementation of NATO Airspace Strategy (NATO CNS-Air Strategy). "This will be an opportunity for our personnel to exchange experiences with internationally recognized experts and learn about modern solutions in communication, navigation, and airspace surveillance, especially those significant for the development of VCG capabilities, such as TACAN systems, LINK-16, and radar surveillance," said Popadić. For members of the military aviation, participation will be an opportunity to familiarize themselves with current global trends in communication, navigation, airspace surveillance, and radio frequency spectrum use, as well as to exchange knowledge and experiences with international experts. Through participation and support for "ICAO Air Navigation World 2026," the Ministry of Defense remains committed to continuously improving the capabilities of the Montenegrin Armed Forces, sharing knowledge and experiences with international partners, and following modern trends in areas vital for the development of military aviation.
