Today, the Cybersecurity Act Comes into Force
The law implements the EU's NIS2 directive and aims to achieve a high common level of cybersecurity across the EU. The goal is a robust and secure society since society rests on a digital foundation. Work on cybersecurity is central to ensuring that society functions as we are used to, and that it can continue, even if Sweden were to face significant pressure. The Cybersecurity Act is a continuation of the work already done. The entry into force of the Cybersecurity Act means that NIS1 and related regulations will cease to apply. Operators under the Cybersecurity Act primarily have the following responsibilities: The specific requirements for operators will be outlined in regulations, which will be published on mcf.se during spring 2026.
