Dukaj: Montenegro Is Paving the Way for the Region’s Digital Integration
Digital connectivity, a safer digital space and stronger regional cooperation are key prerequisites for the economic development and integration of the Western Balkans into European digital flows, Minister of Public Administration Marash Dukaj said ahead of the eighth Western Balkans Digital Summit, which begins tomorrow in Herceg Novi. According to him, Montenegro is entering these processes with concrete results, including the closure of negotiating Chapter 10 and the fact that it is the only country in the region to be a full member of the Digital Europe Programme. “As a leader in the negotiations, Montenegro is the first in the region to pave the way by bringing experience of integration into the EU digital space,” the minister said. MTEL is supporting the eighth Western Balkans Digital Summit as its general sponsor, and the company’s director, Zoran Milovanović, expressed satisfaction at MTEL’s participation in the regional event. He stressed that MTEL, as a telecommunications leader, wants to contribute to creating a secure and competitive digital space, supporting economic growth and the digital integration of the Western Balkans into broader European flows. In line with the Summit’s slogan, “Building Digital Bridges to the Future,” Milovanović highlighted the importance of constructive dialogue on technologies that are changing the way business is conducted every day and contributing to an improved quality of life for Montenegro’s citizens.
