Jakšić-Stojanović: Education and sports on a joint mission – new fields at 'Ratko Žarić' Elementary School

In September, the renovated school sports field was officially opened, adapted and modernized as part of the program 'Let the Ball Be Heard.' The program is implemented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, and the Center for Sports and Youth Promotion (CAMS), aiming to provide students with safer, more functional, and higher-quality conditions for physical education, sports activities, and daily recreation. The works included a new acrylic sports surface, and new equipment such as hoops, goals, volleyball set, Teqball table, table tennis table, and fitness equipment, creating a modern and multifunctional space for various sports and recreational activities. On the occasion of the opening, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, the Ministry of Sports and Youth, local government, and CAMS, along with the school administration, visited the renovated field and symbolically handed over sports equipment to students for use during classes and free activities. The Mayor of Nikšić emphasized that opening the renovated sports fields sends a positive message to children and confirms ongoing investments in sports infrastructure and better conditions for their growth. The Municipality of Nikšić allocated a donation of 10,000 euros for the reconstruction of lighting, making the fields accessible to children, the school, and residents of the area even in the evening. With the opening of the field at JU OŠ 'Ratko Žarić,' the fourth sports field renovated under the 'Let the Ball Be Heard' program was opened, following the completion and opening of fields at JU OŠ 'Vuk Karadžić,' JU OŠ 'Radojica Perović' in Podgorica, and JU OŠ 'Luka Simonović' in Nikšić.
