Statement on farewell visit of the German ambassador to Montenegro, H.E. Peter Felten

Minister Krapović thanked the ambassador for exceptional cooperation and personal contribution to improving friendly and bilateral relations between Montenegro and Germany. He emphasized that he particularly appreciates the ambassador's engagement during years when Montenegro made significant progress in negotiations with the European Union, including the temporary closure of 18 negotiating chapters. Krapović also referred to the recently signed Intergovernmental Agreement on cooperation regarding the procurement of military and defense equipment, training, and services, considering it a solid foundation for further enhancement of cooperation and joint projects. He highlighted that the recent meeting with the German Minister of Defense further confirmed the high level of mutual trust and the readiness of both countries to continue intensive cooperation. The ambassador expressed gratitude for successful cooperation during his tenure and stated that Germany will continue to be a reliable ally of Montenegro and a strong advocate of its European path. The interlocutors assessed that the relations between Montenegro and the Federal Republic of Germany are characterized by friendship, mutual trust, and exceptional cooperation, with a shared commitment to their further development.
