Bijelo Polje: Criminal complaint filed for giving false testimony to obtain a driver's license
Officials from the Bijelo Polje Security Department, the Economic Crime Unit, filed a criminal complaint upon the order of the public prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje against a Montenegrin citizen suspected of committing the crime of giving false testimony. The suspect, a 28-year-old Montenegrin residing in Germany, is suspected of submitting a request to the Directorate for Civil Status and Personal Documents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a new driver's license, claiming that he had lost his previous one. However, checks revealed that the previous driver's license was not lost but was handed over by J.P. to the competent authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany for exchange for a German driver's license. The public prosecutor in the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje legally qualified these actions as the crime of giving false testimony and ordered that proceedings be initiated against J.P.
