Borovinić Bojović and Ambassador Jukić: Exchange of Experiences and Joint Projects to Improve the Healthcare System

During the meeting, discussions focused on enhancing the existing cooperation between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina in healthcare, with particular emphasis on exchanging experiences, strengthening institutional ties, and implementing modern solutions in healthcare organization. An example of regional cooperation presented was the current two-year European project ICARE, carried out by the Public Health Institute of the Capital City with partners from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project aims to improve preventive healthcare and diagnostics, and through its implementation, ultrasound machines for gynecology, colposcopes, and CTG devices will be procured for the Capital City Health Center. An important segment of the project is also the development of a digital application that will enable parents to monitor their child's early psychomotor development and more easily recognize potential deviations. The interlocutors also discussed previous successful collaborations among regional health institutions. In 2022, the health centers of Podgorica, Metković, Zenica, and Ljubuški jointly implemented the IMPHACT project, aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of palliative care. Deputy President Borovinić Bojović emphasized that such projects demonstrate how regional and international cooperation can be significant for further development of healthcare. The exchange of knowledge and good practices among healthcare institutions in the region allows us to quickly identify effective solutions and adapt them to the needs of our citizens. Healthcare systems face similar challenges, which is why cooperation, digitalization, and joint projects play a particularly important role in creating more accessible and efficient healthcare, Borovinić Bojović concluded.
