Gjeloshaj: Strengthening Economic Cooperation with France

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Gjeloshaj thanked Ambassador Humbert-Bouvier for France's ongoing support of Montenegro's European path, emphasizing the importance of strong support from European partners in the reform process and meeting obligations from the negotiation process. The Ministry of Economic Development remains committed to the EU accession process and fulfilling all responsibilities within its jurisdiction, with the clear goal of contributing to the efficient closing of negotiation chapters. The meeting also discussed opportunities to further intensify economic cooperation between the two countries, especially through exchange of experiences and expertise in areas vital for economic development, competitiveness, investment policy, and European integration. Ambassador Humbert-Bouvier praised the dedication and intensity of the Ministry's work in the European integration process, particularly regarding obligations and preparations for closing negotiation chapters under its jurisdiction. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Gjeloshaj proposed and initiated discussions on drafting an Agreement on Economic Cooperation between Montenegro and France, as well as a new Investment Protection Agreement, to further enhance economic relations and create space for new investments. The interlocutors paid special attention to opportunities for intensifying investment cooperation, noting that there is room for a stronger presence of French companies in the Montenegrin market.
