[lat]Cyber Balkans II[/lat]: Orahovac predstavio napredak i prioritete za jačanje sajber otpornosti

In Skopje, the Cyber Balkans II conference - Setting the Course for Cyber Resilient Region was held, dedicated to strengthening the cyber resilience of the Western Balkans and continuing support for the region's countries in aligning with European Union legal standards and international norms. The Cyber Balkans II project is financed by the European Union and implemented by the e-Governance Academy (eGA) from Estonia and the Finnish Institute of Public Management (HAUS) from Finland, in cooperation with the Centre for International Legal Cooperation (CILC) from the Netherlands and the National Cyber and Information Security Agency (NÚKIB) from the Czech Republic, with expert support from the national CERTs of Latvia and Slovenia. Special emphasis was placed on the adoption of a new Information Security Law, which further aligns the national system with the requirements of the NIS2 directive, as well as establishing a clearer framework for key and important entities and their obligations in the field of information security. Speaking about the development of operational capacities, Orahovac highlighted the importance of establishing the Government's Security Operations Centre (GSOC), as well as the Government's and the National CIRT. Among the priorities for the upcoming period are strengthening knowledge and awareness of cybersecurity, developing human capacities, improving cooperation between institutions, and attracting and retaining cybersecurity experts in the public sector. The conference in Skopje marked the beginning of a new phase of the Cyber Balkans project, aimed at contributing to building a more cyber-resilient Western Balkans through experience exchange, expert support, and regional cooperation.
