Partnership Driving Economic Development

Nik Gjeloshaj, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Policy and Minister of Economic Development, stated that this year, as the United States celebrates a major anniversary—250 years since declaring independence—we celebrate much more than a historical date. The United States has been and remains one of Montenegro's most important strategic partners on its Euro-Atlantic path, a strong NATO ally, and a reliable supporter in maintaining peace, stability, and security in the Western Balkans. He highlighted that the Memorandum has opened the space for drafting an intergovernmental G2G agreement, which, after signing and ratification, will represent a tangible result of our joint commitment and an important instrument for attracting American investments to Montenegro. An equally important bridge connecting us with the United States is our diaspora, which, through its knowledge, experience, business connections, and successful enterprises in the U.S., is a valuable resource for our economic development. We remain firmly committed to strengthening political, security, and economic partnership with the United States, confident that the coming years will bring new investment projects, increased trade exchange, stronger economic ties, and even closer friendship between our peoples. With gratitude for past support and sincere belief in our shared future, I extend my warmest congratulations to the American people and the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro on Independence Day and the great jubilee—250 years of American freedom, democracy, and progress.
