Pljevlja: Police found and seized rifle, starter pistol, and 32 rounds of ammunition during searches at two locations

Officials from the Pljevlja Security Department, conducting activities aimed at finding weapons, ammunition, and other illegal items and substances in citizens' illegal possession, based on initiated and obtained orders from the Basic Court in Pljevlja, carried out searches of apartments and other premises at two locations. During a search of the house of H.Č (62) in Pljevlja, police officers found a rifle of the brand "IŽ 27" and five cartridges for the said weapon, which the person did not have a firearm license for. Checks conducted by police revealed that the weapon was inherited but not registered in the person's name as required by law, and a misdemeanor report will be filed against him in accordance with the Law on Weapons and Ammunition. Officers from the Pljevlja Security Department also found and seized a starter pistol "Atak Arms Ltd" with 27 rounds of ammunition during a search of the house and other premises used by N.S (57) in Pljevlja. Since this person did not report the purchase of the starter pistol to the competent authorities, which he was obliged to do, a misdemeanor report will be filed against him in accordance with the Law on Weapons and Ammunition. The Police Administration continues to undertake preventive and repressive activities to uncover, suppress, and prosecute criminal acts and misdemeanors, as well as responsible persons, related to illegal procurement and possession of weapons, aiming to reduce crime and create a safer environment for citizens.
