Dabetić: Environmental awareness is built through concrete activities and daily practice

The State Secretary in the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, and Northern Development Zoran Dabetić spoke at the panel discussion "Montenegro on the path to a European future: Institutions, partnerships, and social resilience," held as part of the conference "Sustainable Leadership – from Decision to Impact." Dabetić emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacities, improving ecological awareness, and cooperating with European partners in the process of fulfilling Montenegro's obligations on its path to the European Union. "However, this is gradually overcome with the support and assistance of partners from the European Union, whose cooperation is crucial for improving institutional mechanisms and strengthening the capacities of competent institutions to respond to the demands of European integration," the secretary stated. Speaking about the importance of environmental protection, Dabetić highlighted that awareness, including ecological awareness, cannot be developed solely through theory but is primarily built through concrete activities and daily practice. "In addition to raising awareness, there are punitive policies implemented, as well as models that contribute to sustainable development," Dabetić said, pointing out the importance of combining education, responsibility, and the application of appropriate measures to achieve sustainable development goals. "I expect that we will temporarily close Chapter in December, which represents an important step in further aligning national legislation and practice with European Union standards," Dabetić concluded.
