CERT.LV together with partners will strengthen Latvia's cybersecurity ecosystem

The Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with partners – the Central Finance and Contracting Agency, Riga Technical University, and the Cyber Incident Prevention Institution CERT.LV – has launched a project in September called “Strengthening Cybersecurity Competences, Skills, and Ecosystem in Latvia” (C-STRONG-NCC-LV). The project is co-financed by the European Union (EU) under the “Digital Europe” program, supporting the government’s long-term investments in Latvia’s digital protection and cybersecurity. The main goal is to enhance the operations of the National Cybersecurity Centre (NCC-LV), develop a national cybersecurity competence community, and increase overall societal cyber resilience, thereby making a significant contribution to the country’s overall digital defense. Particular attention will be given to supporting new talents by involving youth in national and European cybersecurity challenges, as well as informing the public about current threats and improving cyber hygiene. During the project, a NIS2 training tool will be developed to help various organizations more effectively meet cybersecurity requirements and improve employee skills. Meanwhile, CERT.LV will promote cross-border cooperation by organizing experience exchange conferences, providing technical expertise, engaging in public awareness activities, and facilitating Latvia’s integration into the European cybersecurity ecosystem.
