Border Police and Port Authority of Bar Conducted a Two-Day Operation on Lake Skadar and the Morača River Over the Weekend

Officials from the Regional Border Police Center "Center" along with inspectors from the Port Authority of Bar carried out an intensified control operation over the past two days, on June 27, focusing on the safety of persons transported by boats in the area of Lake Skadar and the Morača River channel. The operation aimed at preventive action and suppression of all illegal activities on water. On Saturday, June 27, 2026, between 11:00 and 17:00, authorities inspected vessels in traffic, finding irregularities on six boats, for which the operators will face sanctions from the Port Authority of Bar. Additionally, a Montenegrin citizen was caught without personal documents and issued a fine according to the Law on Identity Cards. From 11:00 to 13:30, inspections were conducted in the Lake Skadar area—Virpazar, the Crnojevića River channel, and Karuč—while from 13:30 to 16:00, intensified vessel control continued in the Morača River channel. The joint activities of the Police Department and the Port Authority aim to prevent cross-border crime and illegal activities on water, as well as to ensure compliance with legal conditions for vessel operation and safety standards for persons and vessels on water transport.
