Italy strongly supports Montenegro's European path: Vuković and ambassador confirmed exceptional partnership between the two countries
Minister of Finance Mr. Novica Vuković met with the Italian ambassador to Montenegro, Andreina Marsela, on the occasion of the end of her diplomatic mandate. The meeting was characterized by mutual respect and confirmation of the excellent cooperation achieved during her tenure. It was assessed that Montenegro and Italy maintain a substantive partnership based on mutual trust, intensive political dialogue, and increasingly strong economic cooperation, with a shared commitment to European values and the integration process. The ambassador particularly highlighted the contribution of the Ministry of Finance to the negotiations with the European Union, emphasizing that the department led by Minister Vuković significantly contributes to the dynamics of negotiations and the achievement of reform goals, serving as an example of quality and responsible work in the European integration process. Vuković thanked the ambassador for her dedicated engagement, friendly relations with Montenegro, and the continuous support Italy has provided for its European path, noting that this partnership was further strengthened during her mandate. He emphasized that the Ministry of Finance remains a reliable partner for Italian companies and investors, guaranteeing full institutional support for all initiatives that contribute to improving economic relations and strengthening investment cooperation between the two countries. The interlocutors exchanged views on the further dynamics of Montenegro's accession negotiations with the European Union, jointly assessing the need to maintain the reform pace to ensure Montenegro becomes the first next member of the EU.
