Rožaje: Criminal complaint filed for illegal cutting of 13 trees in state forest

Officials of the Criminal Police Station of the Rožaje Department, continuing activities in the fight against environmental crime and in accordance with the national priorities of the Police Directorate, submitted a criminal complaint to the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Rožaje against H. from Rožaje, suspected of committing the criminal offense of forest theft. The complaint was filed upon the order of the competent state prosecutor. It is suspected that the crime was committed in the area of the municipality of Rožaje, in Gornja Crnča, where the suspect illegally cut down 13 trees in a state forest, with a total timber volume of 16 m³. Law enforcement officers for combating economic crime took measures and actions in this case in cooperation with officials of the Forest Management and Hunting Administration of Montenegro. The police continue to intensify activities in the fight against environmental crime, which is one of the national priorities, as well as activities to prevent illegal logging, detect and prosecute perpetrators, in order to preserve and protect Montenegro's natural resources.
