The film "Planina" is Montenegro's candidate for the Oscar in 2026
The feature-length documentary film "Planina," written and directed by Biljana Tutorov and Petra Glomazić, produced by ARDOR FILMS d.o.o from Podgorica and ™WAKE UP FILMS d.o.o from Novi Sad, in co-production with Les films de l’oeil sauvage (France), Cvinger Film (Slovenia), Kinematograf (Croatia), is Montenegro's candidate for the 99th Academy Awards in the Best International Feature Film category in 2026. The decision was made by the Selection Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Media, consisting of Dubravka Drakić (actress, chairperson), and members Nikola Vukčević, Nemanja Bečanović, Bojan Stijović (film and TV directors), Marija Perović (film and TV director), Sanja Jovanović (producer), and Edin Jašarović (producer). The year’s submissions included two feature films, "15 i po" directed by Milivoj Mišo Obradović, "Vidra" directed by Srđan Vuletić, and the documentary "Planina" directed by Biljana Tutorov and Petra Glomazić. The decision was made unanimously by secret ballot, based on the Special Rules of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Rules of the Ministry of Culture and Media.
