Borovinić Bojović: Youth health prevention must be a shared priority for institutions and society as a whole
Deputy President Borovinić Bojović supported the initiative, emphasizing that safeguarding young people’s health is an issue of particular social importance and requires continuous, coordinated action by state institutions, the education system, healthcare facilities, civil society organizations, and the private sector. The initiative envisages establishing a broader network of partner healthcare institutions and service providers so that, using the EYC card, young people can more easily access preventive checkups, laboratory tests, dental services, professional counseling, and other resources important for maintaining physical and mental health. Particular attention was given to the potential inclusion of private clinics, laboratories, dental practices, and other healthcare providers in the European Youth Card program through the development of new discounts, more favorable service conditions, and special preventive programs for young people. The next steps identified include developing a specific model of healthcare benefits within the EYC program, identifying potential public- and private-sector partners, defining priority prevention topics, and preparing joint communication and educational activities. The initiative’s shared goal is to connect institutions, the healthcare sector, and the European Youth Card program in order to provide young people with easier access to information, more affordable healthcare services, and preventive resources. In this way, the European Youth Card will continue to serve as a strong instrument of support for young people—not only through its existing network of benefits, but also through the development of long-term programs that contribute to the quality of life, health, and well-being of young people in Montenegro.
