Police Department Warns Again About Fake Email Messages Impersonating Responsible Officials of a Non-Existent Cybercrime Center

The Police Department once again warns and informs the public about the appearance of fraudulent emails (spam emails) that were active during the previous week, and their distribution has been recorded today from a different address. The sender falsely claims to be a responsible person of a non-existent Cybercrime Coordination Center, allegedly calling himself the Director of the Police Department. In the suspicious email, which falsely uses the name of Police Director Lazar Šćepanović, it is claimed that the Cybercrime Coordination Center of Montenegro needs a response to an alleged court order, supposedly attached as 'Obavještenje.pdf'. The attachment states that this so-called Center is sending the recipient an email after seizing a computer and identifying the recipient's IP address, related to child pornography. It is recommended to delete such emails immediately upon receipt and to block further messages from the same address. It is especially important to note that the fact that the message mentions the name and position of a responsible police official does not mean the message is authentic. The senders of such messages use the data and abuse the identities of institutions and their leaders to deceive recipients and induce them to take certain actions as requested.
