Report on the Inspection of Traps and Fruits for Olive Fruit Fly 24.09.
The inspection of traps for monitoring the olive fruit fly population in the areas of Bar and Ulcinj (large olive groves area – Valdanos) was conducted on 23.09.2026. Simultaneously, fruit samples were collected from each site for laboratory examination. The number of flies in McPhail traps remains low, with the highest count at the Valdanos site 3. Laboratory analysis of the fruit samples showed no active infestation at the Bar 2 site. At the Bar 1, Valdanos 1, and Valdanos 2 sites, infestation levels were 3.3% (all L1), while at the other three sites—Bar 3 (L1), Valdanos 3 (50% eggs and 50% L1), and Valdanos 4—the infestation levels were 6.6% (50% L1 and 50% L3).
