Borovinić Bojović and Niković: Support for People Who Safeguard Lives Every Day

Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović visited the Emergency Medical Assistance Institute in Podgorica today, where she discussed with Director Dr. Vuko Niković and staff about the work of this important healthcare institution, daily challenges, and opportunities for further improvement of working conditions and quality of healthcare services. It is crucial that doctors, medical technicians, and all emergency staff have full institutional support, adequate working conditions, and modern equipment that enable them to perform their duties at the highest level. Niković emphasized that new training programs for medical technicians are being developed modeled after European Union countries, along with launching paramedic programs, creating protocols, and introducing telemedicine IT platforms, protocols for home visits, and networking EKG devices. The Emergency Medical Assistance Institute continuously works on creating better working conditions for medical workers, their education, and implementing new technologies to facilitate and accelerate emergency medical services, improve communication between doctors and patients, and increase citizens' trust in the emergency system. The interlocutors agreed that continuous investment in staff, equipment, and working conditions is vital for strengthening emergency medical services and providing quality and timely healthcare to citizens. They also jointly considered future possible modalities for joint activities aimed at further improving the quality of services provided by Emergency Medical Assistance to citizens, both in central and rural areas of Montenegro, with a special focus on accessibility and timeliness of healthcare.
