Suspected of insulting the national flag: criminal complaint to follow
Cetinje Police Department officers will file a criminal complaint with the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Cetinje against D.G. (46) from Cetinje, suspected of committing the criminal offense of damaging the reputation of Montenegro. During a public gathering—celebrating 'Days of Žabljak Crnojevića' in Žabljak Crnojevića—he insulted the Montenegrin flag by calling it a derogatory name and demanding its removal, replacing it with a flag previously used officially, which was heard by gathered citizens. He left the scene, was identified, found, and taken to police premises. The competent public prosecutor in Cetinje, after reviewing the case files, stated that D.G.'s actions contain essential elements of the criminal offense of damaging Montenegro's reputation and ordered that a criminal complaint be filed against him.
