Police officers of OB Plav identified two individuals who displayed the flag with symbols of the so-called Greater Albania in Gusinje – they filed a request to initiate misdemeanor proceedings

Police officers of the Plav Security Department, acting on information that certain individuals, on August 3, 2026, displayed the flag of Greater Albania, took measures within their jurisdiction, resulting in the identification of D.D (28) and V.B (19) from Gusinje. Statements regarding the event were collected from these two individuals in police premises and the case was reported to the state prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Bijelo Polje. After reviewing the case files, the prosecutor stated that there are no elements of a criminal offense in the event that would warrant prosecution ex officio. Based on the prosecutor's opinion, police officers of the Plav Security Department submitted a request to the competent Misdemeanor Court to initiate misdemeanor proceedings against these two individuals for violations of Article 1 of the Police Administration Law. The police will continue to professionally and impartially undertake measures and actions within their jurisdiction to protect public order and peace, ensure the safety of all citizens, and consistently enforce the law, prosecuting all persons whose behavior disrupts public order and peace or violates positive legal provisions of Montenegro.
