U.S. Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Michael Kise Visits Minister Radunović: Potential for Further Cooperation Enhancement

Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism, and State Property Slaven Radunović met with the interim Chargé d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Montenegro, Michael Kise, to discuss issues of importance for strengthening bilateral cooperation and the Ministry's priorities in the upcoming period. Radunović and Kise discussed the importance of resolving restitution disputes within their jurisdiction and in accordance with the law. Kise emphasized the significance of the recently signed and ratified intergovernmental agreement between the U.S. and Montenegro, which provides a framework for implementing numerous projects and programs identified by the Montenegrin government for the U.S. government. Among these projects, the introduction of modern scanners at Montenegrin borders as part of planned border control modernization was highlighted, aiming to improve security and efficiency. Kise also spoke about ongoing activities related to the development of the Adriatic-Ionian corridor, which connects transportation, energy, and digital infrastructure, and expressed confidence that it will have a transformative effect on Montenegro's economy, enhance its geographical position, and open new opportunities for American companies, especially through the Port of Bar. The interlocutors jointly assessed that there is significant potential to continue and deepen cooperation, and confirmed both sides' readiness to further improve partnership relations through open dialogue and concrete activities.
