Podgorica: Criminal complaint against a Podgorica resident – attempted extortion of over 15,000 euros with threats

Police officers from the Podgorica Department of Security have filed a criminal report with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica against A. (28) from Podgorica, suspected of attempting to extort more than 15,000 euros from two individuals in Podgorica. On multiple occasions, he called a male victim from a protected phone number and, under threats, demanded that he hand over 5,000 euros within 24 hours. The suspect is also suspected of committing a similar crime earlier in May, repeatedly calling the same victim from a protected number and demanding 10,000 euros under threat to destroy his passenger vehicle if he did not comply. A third criminal act attributed to him involved a female victim, whom he called and demanded 500 euros under threats to attack her life and the lives of her family members, and to damage her family house if she did not pay. The event was reported to the state prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, who ordered that proceedings be initiated against A.
