Ibrahimović and Paniklova Signed Financing Agreement for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović and the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro Ekaterina Paniklova signed today a financing agreement establishing a framework for the modernization of the Visa Information System of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the introduction of an electronic visa issuance system (e-Visa). The agreement represents an important step in the digital transformation process of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and confirms the commitment to improving public services through modern digital solutions. Its implementation will create conditions for establishing a new Visa Information System, which will contribute to more efficient work of the diplomatic and consular network, higher levels of security and data protection, and compliance with the highest international standards. Foreign nationals will be able to submit applications, provide necessary documentation, pay administrative fees, and collect visas electronically, without the mandatory visit to diplomatic or consular missions, except when necessary according to current procedures. The new system will increase accessibility for Montenegrin citizens and residents of countries without diplomatic or consular missions, facilitate the arrival of tourists, businesspeople, and investors, and improve the quality of consular services and international connectivity of the country. The agreement confirms the successful cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UNDP in implementing reform processes aimed at building a more efficient, modern, and citizen-friendly public administration, in accordance with European and international standards.
