Launch of the video dedicated to the entry into force of the new Data Protection Law
The new law establishes a modern and coherent legal framework in the field of personal data protection, aiming to strengthen the protection of individuals' fundamental rights and freedoms regarding data processing, as well as setting clear rules and responsibilities for operators and authorized persons. It presents relevant aspects for citizens and organizations in an accessible manner, including what constitutes personal data, examples of such data, data subjects' rights, and the responsibilities of those collecting and processing data. The material also highlights the need for a responsible approach to data processing, including legal compliance, ensuring data security and confidentiality, and taking appropriate measures to prevent and manage security incidents. Through this material, CNPDCP aims to support public awareness and familiarize operators and data subjects with the provisions of the new legal framework, thereby increasing awareness of the importance of data protection and promoting a culture of responsibility. 195/2024 marks an important step in strengthening the national data protection framework, and proper knowledge and application of the new provisions are essential to ensure an adequate level of protection for individuals' rights and freedoms. The video material was developed by the National Center for Personal Data Protection, with support from the regional project 'Public Administration Reform in Eastern Partnership Countries,' implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
