Implementation of Monitoring of the Pest Organism Spodoptera frugiperda
Spodoptera frugiperda - fall armyworm is listed as a priority pest organism with potential significant impact on agricultural production and the environment. Pheromone traps for detecting presence were set up on June 1, 2026. During trap placement, pepper and corn crops at the locations where traps were installed were inspected, but no damage symptoms or larva presence were recorded. The first inspection of pheromone traps for the presence of Spodoptera frugiperda in the Zeta and Malesia regions was conducted on June 25. Most traps did not catch insects, and those that did contained small moths (Vranj and Pohum) and other types of moths (Maṭaguži corn). Another pheromone trap was placed in a pepper crop in a greenhouse, GPS coordinates 42° 20′ 13″ N, 19° 20′ 10″ E, location Vuksanlekići.
