Inspections to Monitor Pellet Sales: Inspectors to Check Producers Over Additional Charges

At a meeting of the Coordination Body chaired by Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorović, it was concluded that an inspection team should be formed to monitor pellet producers after citizens reported questionable practices when purchasing this fuel. Members of the Coordination Body for the Coordination and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight discussed complaints that some pellet producers condition sales on customers using their transport services. The members noted that such conduct, if confirmed during an inspection, would contravene the Consumer Protection Act. The chair of the Coordination Body, Minister without Portfolio Milutin Butorović, urged all citizens who are being required to use producers’ transport services when purchasing pellets to contact the market inspectorate. The meeting also considered an initiative by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation to conduct inspections of limited liability companies that effectively provide preschool education and care. A decision was also made to establish a working group to prepare for and monitor the 2026/2027 winter tourist season, one of whose main tasks will be to draft an action plan for preparing for and monitoring the upcoming winter tourist season.
