State Secretary Marko Marković at BMTF

The State Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Marko Marković, attended a ceremony in Skopje, North Macedonia, marking the handover of duties for the regional Balkan Medical Task Force (BMTF). This event also celebrated the 10th anniversary of BMTF, confirming the long-term sustainability and strategic value of this regional initiative. Over the past decade, BMTF has become a recognized and reliable mechanism for cooperation among Western Balkan countries and international partners, significantly contributing to interoperability, mutual trust, and readiness for emergency response. Representatives from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia attended, as BMTF is a regional project formed by these six countries. The event reinforced that this initiative enhances the resilience of member states, improves institutional and medical capacities, and readiness for emergencies. Members of the Montenegrin Army, part of BMTF, participated in major exercises such as 'Vigorous Warrior 2024' in Hungary, 'Platinum Wolf 25' in Serbia, and 'Vigorous Warrior 2026' in Estonia.
