Šahmanović Visits the Gvozd Wind Farm with Electrical Engineering School Students
Minister of Energy and Mining Admir Šahmanović visited the Gvozd wind farm today together with students from the Vaso Aligrudić Secondary Electrical Engineering School in Podgorica and the school’s principal, Marija Babović. He said he was honored and pleased to host the students and show them that modern Montenegro has the capacity to develop complex projects such as the Gvozd wind farm. The visit aimed to inspire their ambition and demonstrate that energy is one of Montenegro’s most promising development sectors. During the visit, the students learned about modern technologies for generating electricity from renewable sources, the operating principles of wind turbines, and the project’s importance for the development of Montenegro’s energy system. Šahmanović emphasized that Montenegro needs new energy capacities as well as young, educated and skilled people, and that the Gvozd wind farm is an important step toward strengthening the country’s energy independence and increasing renewable electricity production. The students Žana Rovačanin and Gligorije Dragaš were particularly pleased with the visit. The Ministry of Energy and Mining said that such visits are an important way to connect education and industry, enabling young people to better understand the opportunities created by the development of the energy sector through practical experience.
