Fourth Call of the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme Presented in Podgorica

The Ministry of European Affairs organized an Info Day in Podgorica on the Fourth Call for small-scale projects to capitalize on results under the Interreg IPA South Adriatic Programme, launched through the Mediterranean Multi-Programme Mechanism (MMM). The Fourth Call focuses on sustainable tourism management by transferring and adapting successful results from previously implemented Interreg projects for application in new environments and institutional contexts, while promoting knowledge exchange and strengthening institutional capacities. In his opening remarks, Miloš Marković, Director General of the Directorate for European Territorial Cooperation at the Ministry of European Affairs, highlighted the Programme’s importance in strengthening cooperation between Italy, Albania and Montenegro, connecting institutions and organizations, and jointly addressing challenges. Speaking about the Programme’s results to date, Marković recalled that 87 projects had been selected, with a total value of approximately €72.2 million, in which Montenegrin beneficiaries play a significant role, with nearly €17 million in contracted funding. Claudio Polignano, Head of the Managing Authority of the South Adriatic Programme, noted that the call is part of a coordinated initiative involving ten Interreg programmes that connect Mediterranean countries through a shared vision and thematic framework for sustainable tourism. A total of €1,034,902.40 has been allocated to finance projects under the Fourth Call, while the maximum value of an individual project is €200,000, including IPA funds and national co-financing.
