They discussed ongoing or planned capital projects for the state budget for the upcoming year, long-standing issues of former economic facilities that hinder the city's development, and the success of the tourist season in Herceg Novi. The meeting was attended by the deputy mayors of Herceg Novi, Ivan Otović and Vladislav Velaš, Minister Milo Popović's advisor, and assistant secretary for social activities and international cooperation, Mitar Kisjelica. It is important that there is synergy between the municipal leadership and the Government of Montenegro, which is always ready to help Herceg Novi and all municipalities in our country," said Vučurović. It was emphasized that progress has been made in resolving long-standing problems, signaling, as President Katić stated, the beginning of a better period for the former economic drivers of Herceg Novi. "We expressed satisfaction that the situation regarding the 'Dr Simo Milošević' Institute and Meljine Hospital has significantly changed in Herceg Novi, and that the story about HTP Boka, or Vektra Boka, is finally being initiated. I believe that better days are definitely ahead for the former Herceg Novi economic giants," said Katić, confirming that Herceg Novi had a record tourist season based on ratings, number of overnight stays, and overall length of stay, and that the post-season outlook is excellent.
