Ibrahimović's Statement in New York on the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of the Terrorist Attacks

On the occasion of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks, I visited the 9/11 Memorial in New York today, a place of permanent remembrance for one of the greatest tragedies of modern times. I pay my deepest respects to the 2,977 innocent people who lost their lives that day. Today, I honored them at the site where their names are permanently inscribed among the victims' names. The Memorial remains a place of remembrance, silence, and warning, but also a reminder of the strength of global solidarity that connected people around the world after the tragedy. Its architecture reflects the strength of individuals and communities to rise, rebuild, and turn after the greatest tragedies. This place sends a powerful message—that the memory of the victims remains eternal, that terrorism must not have the last word, and that solidarity, human dignity, and the strength to resist hatred are stronger than the fear that terrorism seeks to impose. Montenegro still stands with the United States and the American people, in memory of the victims and in a shared commitment to peace, freedom, and human dignity.
