Call for Grant Applications for Research Infrastructure

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation announces a competition for grants to develop, modernize, and openly utilize research infrastructure, within a program totaling 3,000,000 euros, of which 1,500,000 euros is planned for funding the first year of grant implementation. The competition is intended for licensed research institutions based in Montenegro, aiming to develop and modernize research infrastructure, improve the quality and accessibility of related services, and strengthen the capacities of research institutions to conduct modern research and innovation activities. The Ministry may co-finance up to 90% of the total project value, while applicants are required to secure at least 10% of co-financing from their own or other sources. This competition supports the procurement of new infrastructure, upgrades, digitalization, and maintenance of existing research infrastructure, as well as staff capacity development for infrastructure management and open access principles. Support also includes organizational strengthening activities, establishing procedures for infrastructure use, digitalization and optimization of its use, promotion of infrastructural capacities, and short-term mobility related to project implementation. Infrastructure developed, modernized, or procured through the Program must be accessible for use by the research community and the business sector under open access regimes, with prior published, transparent, and non-discriminatory conditions.
