Dukaj–Mils: Enhancement of Cooperation in Cybersecurity

The enhancement of cooperation between Montenegro and the U.S. state of Maine in cybersecurity, exchange of experts and experiences, as well as joint efforts to strengthen the resilience of information and communication systems, were key topics of discussion between Minister of Public Administration Mr. Marash Dukaj and Governor Janet T. Mills. During the meeting, opinions were exchanged on responses to cyber incidents, protection of critical infrastructure, and strengthening the resilience of information and communication systems. Special emphasis was placed on the exchange of experts, knowledge, and experiences, as well as improving institutional cooperation in this field. Minister Dukaj highlighted the importance of partnership with Maine in strengthening Montenegro's capacity to deal with modern cyber threats, emphasizing that institutional cooperation and knowledge exchange are fundamental for building a secure and resilient digital environment. The interlocutors also discussed the continuation of engagement by the Ministry of Public Administration, the Cybersecurity Agency, the Ministry of Defense, and the Armed Forces of Montenegro with partners from Maine, especially in developing and further utilizing a virtual training ground for cyber training. It was jointly assessed that there is room for further improvement of cooperation through concrete projects, professional exchange, and joint activities aimed at enhancing cyber resilience and institutional capacities.
