Meeting of the Prime Minister: Babiš hosted Spajić in Prague, a clear message – Montenegro as the 28th member strengthens the EU

The accession of Montenegro will strengthen the European Union and bring benefits to both sides, said Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić during their meeting. During the discussion at the Kramar Villa in Prague, the two leaders confirmed that the joint goal is Montenegro's EU accession in 2028. "We are with you on this path and you can continue to count on us at every step," emphasized the Czech Prime Minister during the meeting, who also highlighted that Montenegro is ready for the EU and it is time for it to become part of it. The defense cooperation agreement received its first concrete project through the signing of an Implementation Contract, which enables the modernization of Montenegro's defense with new equipment and Czech expertise. The economy is an opportunity for further connection and rapprochement, and we look forward to new projects with the Czech Republic that will benefit the citizens of both countries, said Prime Minister Spajić. It was noted that seasonal air routes between Podgorica and Prague, Tivat and Brno, and Tivat and Prague contribute to bringing people closer, and efforts will continue to create conditions for opening additional direct flights.
