Minister Krapović and the Chief of the General Staff laid a wreath on the occasion of the Martinić Battle anniversary

Minister of Defense Dragan Krapović and the Chief of the General Staff of the Army of Montenegro, Brigadier General Miodrag Vuksanović, laid a wreath today at the monument in Martinići, commemorating the anniversary of the Martinići Battle, honoring the heroes who left an indelible mark on Montenegrin history with their deeds. The laying of the wreath paid tribute to all participants of this significant historical battle, which symbolizes the spirit of freedom, bravery, and determination in the fight to preserve the country's liberty and dignity. Minister Krapović emphasized that fostering a culture of remembrance is an important part of a responsible approach to national history and the values upon which modern Montenegro is built. After nine days of fighting to stop the Ottoman advance on that July day in 1796, it is our duty to respectfully preserve the memory of those who fought for freedom and to pass on the values of courage, responsibility, and love for the homeland to future generations. The Ministry of Defense and the Montenegrin Army will continue to nurture the tradition of marking the most important dates in Montenegrin history, showing respect to all who contributed to the preservation of Montenegro's freedom and sovereignty.
